Heterozygous cx3cr1gfp gfp reporter mice expressing

Manufactured by Jackson ImmunoResearch

Heterozygous (CX3CR1GFP/+) GFP reporter mice express green fluorescent protein (GFP) under the control of the CX3CR1 gene promoter. This allows for the visualization of CX3CR1-expressing cells, such as microglia and certain subsets of monocytes and dendritic cells, in living tissues.

Both male and female adult mice, 2 to 5 months of age, were used in accordance with institutional guidelines, as approved by the Institutional Animal and Care Committee (IACUC) animal care and use committee at the Mayo Clinic and Rutgers University. Heterozygous (CX3CR1GFP/+) GFP reporter mice expressing GFP under control of the fractalkine receptor (CX3CR1) promoter (Jung et al., 2000 (link)) and transgenic mice (Thy1YFP/+) expressing YFP (Feng et al., 2000 (link)) in a subset of pyramidal neurons under the control of the Thy1 promoter were purchased from the Jackson Laboratory. For some experiments, CX3CR1GFP/GFP mice were used as CX3CR1−/− mice. P2Y12−/− mice were originally donated by Dr. Michael Dailey at the University of Iowa (Iowa City, IA, USA) and have now been established in our lab. Trem2−/− mice were donated by Dr. Marco Colonna at Washington University (St. Louis, MO, USA).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
