Nestin antibody

Manufactured by R&D Systems
Sourced in United States

Nestin antibody is a protein used in immunohistochemistry and other research applications to detect the presence of the nestin protein. Nestin is an intermediate filament protein that is expressed in neural stem and progenitor cells. The antibody can be used to identify and study these cell types.

Cell suspensions were stained for human nestin (Nestin antibody, R&D Systems, Minneapolis, MN) and bCD (bCD antibody, BD Pharmingen, San Jose, CA) and analyzed by flow cytometry to measure percentages of Nestin-positive and bCD-positive cells.24 (link), 25

Isolation and Characterization of Glioma Stem Cells

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
C6 glioma stem cells were cultured in serum-free medium for 14 days and then separated by trypsin in order to obtain stem cell spheres. Washed them by PBS and settled them by 4% paraformaldehyde. Their membrane were ruptured by 0.1% saponin, followed by cultured with Nestin antibody, and their appropriate isotype controls (R&D Systems, Minneapolis, MN, USA) for 30 minutes away from light. After that, the stem cells were washed by PBS three times and analysed with FACScan flow cytometry (Becton Dickinson FACSCalibur, Mountain View, CA, USA) [44 (link), 45 (link)].

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
