Male 3xTg-AD mice harboring APP (KM670/671NL), PS1 (M146V), and tau (P301L) protein transgenes [B6;129-Psen1tm1MpmTg(APPSwe,tauP301L)1Lfa/J]; non-transgenic-control mice [B6129SF2/J]; Thy1.1 mice [B6.PL-Thy1/CyJ]; and C57BL/6 mice were obtained from The Jackson Laboratory (Bar Harbor, ME, USA). Animals were housed under a 12 h light/dark cycle and had free access to food and water. All animal experiments were conducted according to the guidelines for animal care and the guiding principles for experiments using animals and were approved by the University of Kyung Hee Animal Care and Use Committee, [KHUASP(SE)-21-102] and [KHUASP(SE)-20-240]. All animal studies were reviewed and performed in compliance with the ARRIVE guidelines.

Genetically Modified Mice for Macrophage-Specific LRP Knockout

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Lysozyme M (LyzM)-Cre+/-,LRPflox/flox (hereafter referred to as LRP-cKO) mice were a kind gift from Dr. Sergio Fazio (Department of Medicine, Vanderbilt University Medical Center) and have been described previously [37] (link). Briefly, mice harboring loxP sites flanking the LRP gene [38] (link) were crossed with mice expressing cre-recombinase under the control of macrophage LyzM promoter [39] (link). Littermate LyzM-Cre-/-, LRPfl/fl were used as wild type (hereafter referred to as WT) controls. For some experiments, C57Bl/6 mice were used as indicated. B6.PL-Thy1/CyJ mice were obtained from the Jackson Laboratory. All mice were on the C57BL/6 background. Mice were maintained in the Vanderbilt University animal care facility and had access to food and water ad libitum. All procedures were approved by Vanderbilt University Medical Center's Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
