Konelab system reagents

Manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific
Sourced in Finland

The Konelab system reagents are a set of chemical solutions used in automated clinical chemistry analyzers manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific. These reagents are designed to work with the Konelab series of instruments and are used for the quantitative determination of various analytes in biological samples, such as blood, urine, or other bodily fluids.

Fasting Glucose and Insulin Analysis

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Blood was collected in the fasting state from the aorta artery after rats were sacrificed. Glucose concentrations were determined by using Konelab 20 (Thermo Electron Corporation) and Konelab system reagents (Thermo Fisher Scientific, Vantaa, Finland). Plasma insulin concentrations were measured using an ELISA kit (Millipore Corporate Headquarters, Billerica, MA, United States). The fasting glucose-to-insulin ratio (FGIR) was calculated (Bligh and Dyer, 1959 (link); Cacho et al., 2008 (link); Bowe et al., 2014 (link)).

Plasma Metabolite Measurement Protocol

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The samples for plasma glucose measurements were collected in citrate-fluoride tubes and for plasma insulin and non-esterified fatty acids (NEFA) in EDTA tubes kept on ice. Plasma was immediately separated by centrifugation at þ4 C and stored at À70 C.
Glucose concentrations were analyzed with the hexokinase method using Konelab System reagents and Konelab 20 XTi clinical chemistry analyzer (Thermo Fisher Scientific, Vantaa, Finland). Insulin was measured with a chemiluminometric immunoassay using Liaison® Insulin reagents (DiaSorin Inc, Stillwater, MN, USA) and DiaSorin Liaison® analyser (DiaSorin Deutchland GmbH, Dietzenbach, Germany). NEFA concentrations were measured with a enzymatic colorimetric method using Wako NEFA-HR(2) reagents (Wako Chemicals GmbH, Neuss, Germany) and Konelab 20 XTi analyzer.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
