C18 sorbent
The C18 sorbent is a type of solid-phase extraction (SPE) media. It is composed of silica particles that have been chemically modified with C18 alkyl chains. The primary function of the C18 sorbent is to selectively retain and separate analytes from complex matrices based on their hydrophobic interactions with the C18 alkyl chains.

was also purchased to Sigma-Aldrich, and sodium sulfate anhydrous was obtained from Panreac (Barcelona, Spain). Florisil (60-100 mesh) and silica bonded to ethylenediamine-N-propyl groups (PSA sorbent) were purchased from Supelco (Bellefonte, PA, USA). Diatomaceous earth was provided by Sigma-Aldrich and silica bonded to C18 (C18 sorbent) was purchased to Agilent Technologies (Santa Clara, CA, USA). Silica gel 60 (0.040-0.063 mm) was obtained from Merck. For some experiments, Florisil and silica gel were activated at 120 ºC for at least 12 h and then allowed to cool at room temperature in a desiccator before use.
MSPD empty polypropylene syringes (15 mL capacity) and 20 µm polyethylene frits were acquired from International Sorbent Technology (Mid Glamorgan, UK).

About PubCompare
Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.
We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.
However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
