Vandetanib

Manufactured by MedChemExpress
Sourced in United States

Vandetanib is a laboratory reagent used for research purposes. It is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that targets the vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR) and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) pathways. Vandetanib is often used in scientific research to study cellular signaling and angiogenesis processes.

Vandetanib Cytotoxicity in Breast Cancer

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
MDA-MB-231 and MCF-7 (ATCC, Manassas, VA, USA) were cultured in DMEM (Gibco, Billings, MT, USA) medium supplied with other factors in an incubator (SANYO, Osaka, Japan) at 37°C with 5% CO2. Changed medium or passage every 2–3 days. Healthy cells were used for cell growth, apoptosis, cell cycle analysis, gene expression, Western blot, and ELISA. The cells were divided into three groups: vandetanib group: cells were treated with 100 µL vandetanib (50 µg/mL, MedChemExpress, Princeton, NJ, USA); negative control (NC) group: cells were treated with 100 µL dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO); and control group: cells were not treated with anything.

Characterization of OCT1 Transporter Activity

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Human embryonic kidney (HEK293) cells were obtained from the American Type Culture Collection (ATCC, Manassas, VA). HEK293 cells stably transfected with mouse OCT1 (mOCT1) or human OCT1 (hOCT1) were cultured in Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Media (DMEM) media supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS) and grown at 37°C in a humidified incubator containing 5% CO2. Radiolabeled [14C] TEA and [14C] metformin were obtained from American Radiochemicals (St. Louis, MO). Cellular uptake assays were performed 48 h following transient transfection by Lipofectamine 3000 Transfection Reagent (Thermo Fisher Scientific, Waltham, MA). ON-TARGETplus Human YES1 siRNA was obtained from Dharmacon (Lafayette, CO). RNA extraction kits were obtained from Omega Bio-tek (Norcross, GA). Reference standards of decynium22, a positive control inhibitor, as well as the TKIs bosutinib, dasatinib, gilteritinib, ibrutinib, lapatinib, sunitinib, vandetanib, and CH6953755 were obtained from MedChemExpress (Monmouth Junction, NJ).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
