Specific immunoassays

Specific immunoassays are analytical tools used to detect and measure the presence of specific molecules or proteins in a sample. These assays utilize the highly specific interaction between an antibody and its target antigen to quantify the analyte of interest. The core function of specific immunoassays is to provide accurate and sensitive detection of target substances in various sample types.

Cytokine Production from PBMCs

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
PBMCs (2.5 × 105 cells/well) were incubated with beads coated with bacterial extracts (50 beads/well) for 1 day of culture. Each experiment was performed in duplicate. Cell supernatants were collected and TNF and IL-10 were assayed in duplicates (100 μl each) using specific immunoassays (R&D Systems). The results were expressed as pg/ml. The detection limits of immunoassays were of 5.5 and 3.9 pg/ml for TNF and IL-10, respectively. The intra- and interspecific coefficients of variation ranged from 5% to 10%. Crude data are available in S2 Table.

Plasma sCD40L Quantification Protocol

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Plasma sCD40L levels were measured by using specific immunoassays (R & D Systems) ac-cording to the instructions of themanufacturer. In addition, sCD40L concentrations were measured with an sCD40L assay (Quantikine® R&D Systems). According to the package insert, the R&D ELISA was used to measure sCD40L, and was linear within the analytical range of the assay.

Immune Marker Profiling in Clinical Samples

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Samples of serum were collected by routine methods at the time of clinical examination in a fasting state. Serum was aliquoted and stored at –70°C until assayed in batch. Serum concentrations of IL-17, CCL20, and IL-23 were measured with specific immunoassays (R&D Systems, USA), as per manufacturer’s instructions. Estimated detection levels were 0.01 pg/ml and 0.47 pg/ml, and 16.3 pg/ml for IL-17, CCL20, and IL-23, respectively. Values below the detection limit were assigned a value of zero. All other laboratory tests were performed routinely by the hospital central laboratory.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
