Retinal Thickness Measurement using SD-OCT

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
A SD-OCT device (Bioptigen Inc. Durham. NC, USA) was used to record the retinal thickness 20 (link). Images were captured with the rectangular scan at 1000 A-scans per B-scan, and 100 B-scans per frame. Total retinal thickness (TRT) was measured perpendicular to the surface of retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) layer and retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions, 500 μm away from the center of optic nerve head (ONH) using the built-in software (InVivoVU, Bioptigen), and then averaged. The examiners were blinded to the treatment information.

Retinal Layer Thickness Measurement via SD-OCT

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Spectral-domain (SD) -OCT device (Bioptigen Inc. Durham. NC, USA) was used to record the retinal layers thickness [30 (link), 31 (link)]. Images were captured with the rectangular scan at 1000 A-scans per B-scan, and 100 B-scans per frame. Total retinal thickness (TRT) was measured perpendicularly from the layer of retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) to the layer of outer segment (OS), 500 μm away from the center of optic nerve head (ONH) using the built-in software (InVivoVU, Bioptigen) and then averaged. The examiners were blinded to the treatment information.

Quantitative Retinal Imaging and CNV Analysis

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
OCT (EnvisuTM R-series SDOIS system, Bioptigen, Inc., Morrisville, NC, USA) imaging was performed after animals were anesthetized with pupils dilated. The corneal and retinal thickness were measured at 500 µm intervals temporal and nasal to the optic nerve head in all images obtained from both horizontal and vertical scans, using the system software (InVivoVU, Bioptigen, Inc.), and averaged [25 (link)]. For laser-induced CNV mice, the CNV volume was quantified using ImageJ based on the volume formula as described [20 (link),26 (link)].

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
