Comparative Analysis of Biological Responses

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
All experiments were replicated at least three times, and the data were expressed as the mean ± standard deviation. Statistical analysis was carried out using SPSS 26 (IBM, NY, USA), and graphs were prepared in GraphPad Prism 9.0 (GraphPad Software, La Jolla, CA, USA) and Adobe Illustrator 2022 (Adobe Systems Incorporated, San Jose, CA, USA). A Mann–Whitney U test or one-way ANOVA and Bartlett’s test were used to analyze the differences between and among groups. Differences were considered to be statistically significant when p < 0.05.

Comprehensive Analytical Workflow for Metabolomics

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Data were tabulated in Microsoft Excel, with all statistical tests and graphical outputs generated with R (version 4.0.4 ‘Lost Library Book’) or GraphPad Prism (version 9.0.0 for Windows, GraphPad Software, San Diego, CA, USA). Illustrations and figure layouts were generated in Adobe® Illustrator 2022 (Adobe Inc.). All cost data are shown in British pounds (£) and are derived from prices paid for reagents at the time of the study.

In Vivo Symptom-Free Survival Analysis

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
In vivo symptom-free survival was evaluated with Kaplan–Meier survival fractions, p values were generated, and the Log-rank test (Mantel–Cox) was performed. Additionally, the Tukey-Kramer post hoc test was used. Error bars represent standard deviation (SD). Pearson correlations were calculated using MATLAB (R2021b, The MathWorks, Inc., Natick, MA, USA).
Growth curves of contrast-enhancing regions and gadolinium- and FET-uptake were analysed by GraphPad Prism 9 (GraphPad Software, San Diego, CA, USA) and visualized with Adobe Illustrator 2022 (Adobe, San José, CA, USA).

Multimodal Visualization Workflows

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
All figures were generated using a combination of ImageJ, MATLAB (both versions R2020b and R2022a), Inkscape (version 1.1.2), and Adobe Illustrator 2022 (version 26.1). ImageJ was used for figures showing histology. MATLAB produced numerical plots. Inkscape was used to compile and complete these figures, with some help from Adobe Illustrator. Videos were produced using ImageJ and Adobe Media Encoder 2022 (22.61).

Statistical Analysis of IIM Patient Data

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
All analyses were performed using SPSS version 25 (SPSS, Inc., Chicago, IL, USA). Figures were plotted using GraphPad Prism 5 (version 5.02; GraphPad Software, La Jolla, CA, USA) and Adobe Illustrator 2022 (version 26.5; Adobe Inc., San Jose, CA, USA). All variables were assessed for normality with Kolmogorov–Smirnov and Shapiro–Wilk tests. Comparisons between groups were performed by Chi-square for categorical variables, t-test for continuous variables with normal distribution, or Mann–Whitney U test for continuous variables with skewed distribution. The bivariate relationships were assessed using the Spearman or Pearson correlation coefficient. Repeated measurements were assessed by one-way repeated ANOVA followed by post hoc comparisons. Inter-group analysis on differences in repeated measurements between the IG and CG of IIM patients were assessed by two-way repeated (group × time) ANOVA. Data are presented as median (inter-quartile range) unless stated otherwise, and p < 0.05 was considered statistically significant.

Tillage and Straw Returning Effects

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Data were processed using Microsoft Excel 2019. One–way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was conducted to compare the effect of different treatments. The effects of the same tillage cultivations on different straw returning methods were identified using SPSS 23.0 software. Statistical significance was determined at P = 0.05 [27 ]. The relationship between characterization indexes was determined using Pearson’s correlation matrix in RStudio [28 ]. Diagrams and tables were drawn using AUTOCAD 2019, Origin 2019, and Adobe Illustrator 2022.

Statistical Analysis of Biological Replicates

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
For statistical analysis of studies consisting of two groups, unpaired two-tailed t-tests were applied. When comparing more than two study groups, 1-way or 2-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) with multiple comparison post hoc tests as specified were used to assess statistical difference between samples. The number of individual biological replicates (n values) and exact P values are shown in the figures or schematics. The threshold of statistical significance (α) was set to 0.05. Source data and statistical analysis are shown in the S5 Data and S6 Data files, respectively. Statistical analyses were carried out in Prism version 10.0.3 (GraphPad), graphs were assembled in R, Prism 10.0.3, Adobe illustrator 2022, or PyMOL. Sequence alignments were performed with MAFFT version 7 and Jalview 2.11.2.7. Cartoons and study design overviews were created in Biorender and assembled in Adobe illustrator 2022.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
