Somatic Cell Count Analysis in Milk Samples

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
After collection, milk samples were refrigerated (5°C) and transferred to the milk laboratory of Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale del Lazio e Toscana (Rome, Italy). The SCC determination was performed within 24 h from collection using a fluoro-opto-metric device (Fossomatic 5000 series; Foss Electric, Hillerød, Denmark). To achieve a normal distrbution of data, a logarithmic transformation was applied to SCC (27 (link)) and the somatic cell score (SCS, units) was obtained.

Somatic Cell Count Determination in Milk

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
All individual milk samples were analyzed for SCC determination by using a fluoro-opto-metric method (Fossomatic 5000 series, Foss Electric, Hillerød, Denmark) and according to the International Dairy Federation (1995) method.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
