To confirm that the obtained phages express a peptide mimicking 6′-SL, wells were pre-coated overnight at 4°C with 100 μL of 100 μg/mL Sambucus nigra lectin or NaHCO₃ as vehicle control. After blocking with 100 μL of 1% bovine serum albumin in PBS for 1 hour at room temperature, the wells were incubated with 1 × 10¹⁰ purified phages in PBS for 2 hours at room temperature, with PBS as vehicle control. Wells were washed 6 times with Tris-buffered saline containing 0.1% Tween-20 before incubation with 100 μL of horseradish peroxidase-conjugated M13 antibodies (Cat# 27-9421-01, GE Healthcare, Piscataway, NJ, USA) in blocking solution for 1 hour at room temperature. The wells were then washed 6 times with Tris-buffered saline containing 0.03% Tween 20, and with 100 μL of 2,2′-azinobis-(3-et hylbenzthiazoline-6-sulphonate) (Cat# 30931-67-0, Sigma-Aldrich) finally. Absorbance was determined at 415 nm in a microtiter plate reader (Tecan Infinite^® M1000 Pro, Tecan, Switzerland).

Phloridzin (PZ), myristic acid, 3 Å molecular sieves, 2,4,6-tris(2-pyridyl)-S-triazine (TPTZ) and 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) were purchased from Aladdin (Shanghai, China) while the immobilized lipase B enzyme Novozyme 435^® (from Candida antarctica and 10,000 propyl laurate unit activity) was obtained from Novo Industry A/S. Tween-80 and 2,2′-Azinobis-(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulphonate) (ABTS) were purchased from sigma, with phosphorus (V) oxide (P₂O₅), p-anisaldehyde, acetone, acetic acid, ethanol anhydrous, sodium acetate trihydrate, ferric chloride, vitamin C and carbon tetrachloride (CCl₄) were obtained from Kemiou Chemical Reagent Co., Ltd (Tianjin, China) while olive oil was obtained from a local Pharmacy (Beijing, China). Silymarin was supplied by Madaus AG (Germany).
Aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), glutathione (GSH), malondialdehyde (MDA) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) detection kits were purchased from Nanjing Jiancheng Institute of Biotechnology (Nanjing, China). Enhanced Bicinchoninic Acid (BCA) Protein Assay Kit was obtained from Beijing Kangwei Institute of Biotechnology (Beijing, China).

Candida antarctica lipase B (CALB, EC.3.1.1.3, recombinant expressed in Aspergillus Niger), Glucose Oxidase from Aspergillus Niger (GOD, EC.1.1.3.4), Peroxidase from horseradish (HRP, EC.1.11.1.7), Poly(allylamine hydrochloride) (PAH, MW: ~200 kDa), p-Nitrophenol, 2,2′-Azinobis-(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulphonate) (ABTS), Fluorescamine, were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich chemical. Sulforhodamine 101 and FITC were purchased from Aladdin. d-glucose anhydrous, hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB), N, N-Dimethylacetylamide (DMAc), glycerol were purchased from Beijing Chemical Factory, 1-Oxododecyla-α-glucopyranoside was purchased from Beijing Saenke Biotechnology Company, Hydrogen peroxide was purchased from Beijing Xinjingke Biotechnology Company, Polyurethane A85E pellets with a bulk density of approximately 700 kg/m³ was supplied by Xiamen Jinyouju Chemical Agent (Xiamen China).
