Capryol® and Gelucire® 50/13 were gift samples from Gattefossé (Nanterre, France). Miglyol® was from Sasol (Hamburg, Germany). Eudragit® RS100 was obtained from Evonik (Essen, Germany). Lipoid® S75 was a gift sample from Lipoid®, Ludwigshafen, Germany. All other materials were of analytical grade. Mucin from porcine stomach (Type III, bound sialic acid 0.5%–1.5%, partially purified powder) was purchased from Sigma-Aldrich.

Lipid-based Formulations for Atorvastatin Delivery

Gelucire® 43/01 (mixtures of mono-, di- and triglycerides with PEG esters of fatty acids), glyceryl monostearate (GMS), Compritol® 888 ATO (glycerol dibehenate/behenate) and Capryol® PGMC (propylene glycol monocaprylate type I) were kindly gifted by Gattefosse (St Priest, Cedex, France). Pluronic®F68 (polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene (150:29) block copolymer, poloxamer 188) was purchased from Sigma-Aldrich, Inc. (St. Louis, MO). AT (atorvastatin) is kindly gifted by Al-Arabiya Pharmaceutical Company (Cairo, Egypt). Lecithin (70% phosphatidylcholine) was kindly gifted by Lipoid (Ludwigshafen, Germany). Tween® 80 (polyoxyethylen-80-sorbitanmonooleat, polysorbate 80) was purchased from ADWIC Chemicals Co. (Cairo, Egypt). All the reagents were of analytical grade and used without further purification.

Formulation of Curcumin-loaded Nanoemulsion

The source of HA was Merck KGaA (Darmstadt, Germany). Curry oil (CrO) was bought from the Saudi-Indica Natura Company (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia). Ashland delivered Gantrez S-97 (the acid version of methyl vinyl ether and maleic anhydride copolymer) (Tadworth, Surrey, UK). The following substances were bought from Sigma: Turmeric, Tween 80, Span 80, cremophor, isopropyl alcohol, glycerin, and ethanol (St. Louis, MO, USA). Labrasol, Lauroglycol 90, Capryol, Plurol CC49, and Transcutol were graciously provided by Gattefosse (Saint-Priest Cedex, France). The other compounds that were utilized in this experiment were all of analytical grade. Purified water was used in the experiments.
