Population sample and DNA extraction method DNA was obtained from peripheral blood in 105 unrelated (42 males and 63 females) residents of the Monterrey City in the Nuevo Leon state (Northeast, Mexico). For this purpose, the AutoMate Express DNA extraction system was used according to the supplier's instructions (Applied Biosystems). Next, DNA was quanti ed with the Quanti ler® trio DNA quanti cation kit in a 7500 Applied Biosystems Real-Time PCR system. Volunteers signed an informed consent form before the inclusion in the study, according to the Helsinki Declaration Ethical Guidelines. This work was approved by the Ethical Research Committee at the Institute of Criminalistics and Forensic Services of the Attorney General of Nuevo Leon state (Northeast, Mexico). The anonymity of the participants will be preserved all time.
