[Arg8]-Vasotocin acetate salt (the non-mammalian homologue of AVP) was purchased from Alfa Aesar (Cat. no. J66551) and buspirone hydrochloride was purchased from Tocris (Cat. no. 0962). AVP was injected intraperitoneally 10 min before shoaling was measured. Body weight was measured to calculate the amount to inject. We injected 5 μg/gbw AVP dissolved in 0.9% saline (Oxoid, Cat. no. BO0334C) using a Hamilton syringe (Sigma, Cat. no. 80200). This concentration was chosen according to33 (link). Control animals were given a sham injection of saline before behaviour was measured. Buspirone was applied by acute immersion in system water containing 25 µM drug for 1 h. The concentration was chosen according to previous studies94 (link).

Buspirone hydrochloride was bought from Tocris (Cat. no. 0962), oxytocin was purchased from Sigma Aldrich (Cat. no. O3251) and risperidone was purchased from Tocris (Cat. no. 2865). Administration and concentration of the treatments were chosen according to previously published studies. Buspirone was applied by immersion in water containing 10 mg/L drug for 1 h (Bencan et al., 2009 (link)). oxytocin was applied at a concentration of 10 ng/kg by intraperitoneal injection 30 min before recording (Zimmermann et al., 2016 (link)). risperidone was applied by immersion in water containing 170 μg/L drug for 15 min (Idalencio et al., 2015 (link)). For buspirone: n = 8 WT, n = 8 reln–/–. For oxytocin: n = 9 WT, n = 9 reln–/–. For risperidone: n = 9 WT, n = 9 reln–/–.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
