Ferric nitrate nonahydrate Fe (NO₃)₃.9H₂O (404 g/mol molecular weight; ≥ 98 % purity) and ammonia solution (17.03 g/mol molecular weight; 28 % purity) were purchased from SIGMA-ALDRICH. Commercial starch powder (C₆H₁₀O₅) _n, extracted from cereal grains such as corn, was purchased from Tunisia [44 (link)].

Potassium persulfate (K₂S₂O₈) was purchased form Alfa and potassium permanganate (KMnO₄) was purchased from Greagent. Phosphorus pentoxide (P₂O₅), ferrous sulfate heptahydrate (FeSO₄·7H₂O), ferric nitrate nonahydrate Fe(NO₃)₃·9H₂O and 2,7-dichlorodi-hydrofluorescein diacetate (DCFH-DA) were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich. Graphite, sodium borohydride (NaBH₄), 1-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-3-ethylcarbodiimide hydrochloride (EDC), N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS), potassium iodide (KI) and benzoic acid were purchased from Adamas. Glucose oxidase (GOx) was purchased from Aladdin. Cell culture medium (DMEM), fetal bovine serum (FBS) and penicillin-streptomycin were purchased from Gbico. Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) was purchased from Dojindo.

The pure saffron sample was provided from saffron institute of Torbat Heydarieh City, Iran. Tartrazine (Acid Yellow 23; FD&C Yellow No. 5) (99% purity) was obtained from medchemexpress (USA). N, N-dimethylformamide (DMF) (99.9%), ethanol (absolute ≥ 99.8%), methanol (HPLC grade; 99.8%), and distilled water (HPLC grade; 99.9%) were acquired from Merck Millipore (USA). Polyacrylonitrile (PAN, (C₃H₃N)n, Mw = 150,000) (98% purity), ferric nitrate nonahydrate (Fe(NO₃)₃⋅9H₂O) (99%), zinc acetate dihydrate (Zn(CH₃COO)₂⋅2H2O) (98.8%), triethylamine (C₂H₅)₃N (99%), terephthalic acid (C6H4-1,4-(CO2H)2) (98%), and triaminotriazine (C₃H₆N₆) (99%) were obtained from Sigma-Aldrich Chemical Company (USA).
