Folin-Ciocalteu reagent, sodium acetate trihydrate and sodium hydroxide (HPLC grade) were obtained from Chem-Lab NV, Zedelgem, Belgium. Iron (III) chloride hexahydrate, sodium carbonate, and sodium nitrite was from Merck, KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany. All the other chemicals used were of analytical grade.
