Quantifying Total Phenolic Content

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Total phenolic content was determined using a modified protocol from Ainsworth and Gillespie (2007) (link). Briefly, 100 µL of methanolic sample extract was combined with 200 µL of Folin-Ciocalteu’s reagent (Thermo Fisher Scientific, MA, USA) and 800 µL of 700 mM sodium carbonate. The tubes were vortexed for 30 seconds then allowed to stand at room temperature for 2h. The absorbance was measured at 765 nm using a UV/VIS spectrophotometer. Total phenolic content was expressed as gallic acid equivalents.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
