C57/Bl6, Drd1-EGFP, Drd2-EGFP, and α2-knockout mice (Glra2-KOs) of the age of 8–16 weeks were used in the study. Glra2-KOs were generated by deletion of the exon 7 of Glra2 (Avila et al., 2013b (link)). Drd1-EGFP and Drd2-EGFP (Gong et al., 2003 (link)) mouse lines were obtained from Jackson Laboratory. Glra2-KOs were fully back-crossed to C57/Bl6, and Drd1a-EGFP and Drd2-EGFP to CD1 background and genotyped as described previously (Gong et al., 2003 (link); Avila et al., 2013b (link)). C57/Bl6, Drd1-EGFP, and Drd2-EGFP mice of both sexes and Glra2-KO and WT males were used in the study.
All experimental procedures were performed according to the Institutional Animal Care Committee guidelines and were approved by local ethics committees. All efforts were made to minimize the suffering and number of animals used.

All experimental procedures were approved by the Mayo Clinic Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee and performed in accordance with NIH guidelines. Adenosine A2A receptor (A2AR: Adora2A, MMRRC:031168-UCD)-Cre mice were provided by Dr. Jiang-Fan Chen at Wenzhou Medical University. Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 family, member L1 (ALDH1L1)-Cre (Stock #023748), Dopamine D2 receptor (D2R: DRD2)-eGFP (stock #030255), Dopamine D1 receptor (D1R: DRD1)-tdTomato (stock #016204) and C57BL/6J mice were purchased from Jackson Laboratory (Bar Harbor, ME). The ENT1 KO mice were generated as described (27 (link)). Mice were housed in standard Plexiglas cages and the colony room was maintained at a constant temperature (24 ± 1°C) and humidity (60 ± 2%) with a 12 h light/dark cycle (lights on at 07:00 A.M.). We used 8- to 10-wk-old male mice for all experiments.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
