Ambion MicroPoly(A)Puris kit, Ambion mirVana miRNA Isolation Kit, Reverse Transcription Kit, Applied Biosystems MicroRNA Reverse Transcription Kit, TaqMan Universal master mix II (no UNG), MKK7 mRNA primers, Applied Biosystems primers assays (U6, rno-miR-1, hsa-miR-27a, hsa-miR-133a, and hsa-miR-133b) were purchased from Life Technologies (USA).
The iTaq Universal SYBR Green Supermix was purchased from BioRad (UK). Phospho-MKK7 (Ser271/Thr275), Total MKK7 rabbit mAb antibodies and anti-rabbit IgG, HRPlinked antibody and anti-biotin, HRP-linked antibody were purchased from Cell signaling technologies (UK).

The HL60 cell line were obtained from European Collection of Cell Culture (England). RPMI 1640 medium and MTT was purchased from Sigma Aldrich (USA) and the medium supplements L-Glutamine, HEPES and antibiotics mix (100 U/ml penicillin and 100 µg/ml of streptomycin) were from Invitrogen (UK), while foetal bovine serum (FBS) was from Biosera (UK). Formaldehyde was bought from Fisher Scientific (USA). Protease inhibitor cocktail was purchased from Roche (UK). Sunitinib malate and 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) was purchased from Sigma Aldrich (USA) and IB-MECA was purchased from Tocris Bioscience (UK). Antibodies anti-PKCα (phospho T497) pPKCα and total PKC were from Abcam (UK), while glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) (14C10) rabbit mAb and anti-rabbit linked IgG antibody conjugated to horseradish peroxidase were from Cell Signalling (UK).
