A Cell Counting Kit (CCK)-8 (Sangon Biotech Co., Ltd.) was utilized to evaluate cell viability. In brief, 16HBE cells (100 µl) were seeded in 96-well plates overnight. After treatment or/and transfection, CCK-8 (10 µl) reagent was added to per well and then incubated for another 3 h. Lastly, optical density (OD) value was examined under a microplate reader (Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc.) at 450 nm.
