5 bromo 2 deoxyuridine brdu incorporation assay kit

Manufactured by Cell Signaling Technology
Sourced in United States

The 5-Bromo-2'-deoxyuridine (BrdU) incorporation assay kit is a laboratory tool used to measure cell proliferation. It detects the incorporation of BrdU, a synthetic nucleoside analog, into the DNA of dividing cells during the S phase of the cell cycle.

BrdU Proliferation Assay for CDFs and NIH3T3

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The proliferation of CDFs or NIH3T3 was evaluated using a 5-Bromo-2′-deoxyuridine (BrdU) incorporation assay kit (Cell Signaling Technology, MA, USA) following the manufacturer's instructions. In brief, CDFs or NIH3T3 were seeded into a 6-well plate with 1 × 106 cells/well and they were treated with different interventions for 24h. Then, BrdU solution was added into each well for another 12 h after interventions. Next, cells were fixed and washed with PBS and incubated with mouse anti-BrdU-primary antibody for 1h at RT. Finally, DAPI was used to counterstain the nucleus for 3 min. Cell proliferation was measured using the average number of BrdU + cells/number of DAPI per mm2.

Cell Proliferation and Viability Assay

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Cell proliferation was detected by 5-Bromo-2′-deoxyuridine (Brdu) incorporation assay kit (Cell Signaling Technology, USA). 24 h following interventions, cells treated with Brdu agent for another 12 h. Then cells were fixed, washed, and incubated with anti-Brdu antibody for 60 min. Dapi was applied to stain nucleus. Cell proliferation was calculated using the number of Brdu + cells/number of Dapi. Cell viability was assessed by Cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8, Beyotime, China) [28 (link)].

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
