Dhea s

Manufactured by Cayman Chemical

DHEA-S is a steroid compound used in research applications. It is the sulfate ester of dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), a naturally occurring steroid hormone produced by the adrenal glands. DHEA-S serves as a precursor for the synthesis of other steroid hormones, and is commonly used in scientific studies to investigate its physiological effects.

PFAS Impact on CYP3A7 Metabolism

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) was purchased from Alfa Aesar (Haverhill, MA). PFOA (CAS: 335–95-5) was purchased from Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (Waltham, MA). PFOS (CAS: 2795–39-3) was supplied by Sigma-Aldrich (St Louis, MO). GenX (CAS: 62037–80-3) was purchased from Manchester Organics (Runcorn, UK). PFNA (CAS: 375–95-1) and PFHxS (CAS: 3871–99-6) were both acquired through Frontier Scientific Inc. (Logan, UT). PFNS (CAS: 98789–57-2) was purchased from Toronto Research Chemicals (Toronto, ON). All PFAS stocks were prepared fresh in DMSO prior to each experiment (5–100 mM). Glucose-6-phosphate, Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, β-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP+), and dehydroepiandrosterone-d5-3-sulfate (DHEA-S-d5) were all purchased from Sigma Aldrich (St. Louis, MO). The fluorescent probe substrate, dibenzylfluorescein (DBF, CAS: 97744–44-0) and DHEA-S (CAS: 1099–87-2) were supplied by Cayman Chemical Company (Ann Arbor, MI). The metabolite standard, 16α-hydroxy DHEA-S, was purchased from Steraloids (Newport, RI). The CYP3A7 Bactosomes (catalog number: CYP/EZ060) were purchased from Cypex Ltd. (Scotland, UK) where the recombinant CYP3A7 enzyme was co-expressed with the human cytochrome P450 reductase in E. coli and then supplemented with the human cytochrome b5.

Characterization of KCNQ Channel Constructs

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The CFP-PH construct was obtained from Tobias Meyer (Stanford University) through Addgene. Ci-VSP and eVSP were obtained from Yasushi Okamura (Osaka University). Cyt-CKAR was obtained from Alexandra Newton (University of California–San Diego). Human KCNQ1 and KCNQ5 plasmids were obtained from Geoffrey Abbott (University of California–Irvine). Human KCNQ4 plasmid was obtained from Anastasios Tzingounis (University of Connecticut). Rat KCNQ2 expression plasmid has been described (Hoshi et al., 2003 (link)). Rat KCNQ2(H558C) constructs were generated by QuickChange II XL site-directed mutagenesis (Agilent Technologies). All PCR-derived constructs were verified by sequencing. DHEAS was purchased from Cayman Chemical.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
