All chemicals used in the present study were of the analytical grade. Quinine hemisulfate salt, ethylenediaminetetraAcetic acid, mercury(ii) nitrate, lead(ii) nitrate, cobalt(ii) nitrate hexahydrate, zinc(ii) nitrate hexahydrate, copper(ii) nitrate trihydrate, and cadmium(ii) nitrate tetrahydrate were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich, Germany. Sodium phosphate monobasic, disodium phosphate, sodium acetate, sodium chloride, calcium(ii) nitrate tetrahydrate, iron(iii) chloride hexahydrate, and iron(ii) sulfate were obtained from QReC™, New Zealand. Aluminium(iii) chloride, manganese(ii) sulfate monohydrate, nickel(ii) chloride, silver(i) chloride, and magnesium chloride were procured from Carlo Erba, Italy. Chromium(iii) nitrate and potassium dichromate were purchased from Acros Organics™, USA. Acetic acid was supplied by Merck, Germany. Hydrogen peroxide was purchased from Ajax Finechem, Australia. All food samples and shallot were obtained from the local market of Thailand.

Tannic Acid-Capped Gold Nanoparticles for Trace Metal Analysis

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The tannic acid-capped gold nanoparticles (AuNPs@TA, 2.2 x 10 10 particles mL -1 ) colloid, with a hydrodynamic diameter of 68.4 nm as indicated by the manufacturer, were used as received (NanoComposix Inc., San Diego, US). The main ingredients of the supplied suspension are Au (0.005 % mass), tannic acid (<0.001 % mass) and water (>99 % mass). The manufacturer declares 26 that "no residual reactants" are present in the final formulation. Zinc nitrate hexahydrate (Zn(NO 3 ) 2 .6H 2 O ≥98%, Sigma-Aldrich, Gillingham, UK) and mercury(II) nitrate (Hg(NO 3 ) 2 0.05 M, Sigma-Aldrich, Steinheim, Germany) were used as Zn 2+ and Hg 2+ sources, respectively; and were prepared in 0.1 M KCl + 0.1 M HCl solutions 15, 16 . All solutions were prepared using nanopure water with a resistivity of not less than 18.2 MΩ cm at 298K (Millipore, US) and degassed thoroughly with high purity nitrogen flow (BOC Gases plc, UK) before use.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
