Hexaammonium heptamolybdate tetrahydrate, thiourea, 1,4-naphthoquinone, 3-mercaptopropionic acid, N-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-N-ethylcarbodiimide hydrochloride (EDC), pyrrole, lithium perchlorate, ethylendiamine (EDA), cystamine, ethanolamine, phosphate-buffered saline (PBS), ampicillin, levofloxacin, amoxicillin, and penicillin were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (France). All the PBS solutions (pH = 7.4) were prepared by dissolving one tablet in 200 mL (0.01 M) then filtered using a 0.22 μm membrane filter and stored at 4 °C until use. The aptamer was provided by Eurogentec company. The used sequence is: 5′-NH2-(CH2)6-GCGGGCGGTTGTATAGCGG-3′ with Kd = 13.4 nM [31 (link)].
Other chemicals used in this work were of analytical grade and directly used without additional purification. All solutions were prepared with Milli-Q water (18 MΩ cm−1) from a Millipore system. Real sample assays for environmental water sample control were collected from the Majerda river (Beja) in Tunisia.
