Ultraufoil r 1.2 1 3 au 300 mesh gold grids
The UltrAuFoil R 1.2/1.3 Au 300 mesh gold grids are a type of laboratory equipment used in various scientific applications. These grids are made of gold and have a mesh size of 300. They are designed to provide a stable and uniform support for samples during microscopy or other analytical techniques. The core function of these grids is to serve as a substrate for holding and presenting samples for examination.

Apoferritin Cryo-EM Sample Preparation
UltrAuFoil R 1.2/1.3 Au 300 mesh gold grids (Quantifoil) were used for cryo-EM sample preparation. The grids were plasma treated with the Solarus Plasma Cleaner 950 (Gatan, 75% argon/ 25% oxygen atmosphere at 15 Watts for 7 s) immediately before sample application to make their surfaces hydrophilic. A 3 μL aliquot of apoferritin sample at ~1.6 or 0.8 µM concentration was applied to grids and then vitrified in liquid ethane using a manual plunger. All operations were performed in a 4 °C cold room at >80% humidity to minimize evaporation and sample degradation.
For data collected at Janelia Research Campus, apoferritin was purified as described before72 (link). Grids were vitrified in a manner similar to the grids prepared for data collection at Scripps Research.
About PubCompare
Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.
We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.
However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
