Culturing Rat Pituitary Tumor Cell Lines

Three kinds of rat pituitary tumor cell lines GH3 was obtained from BeNa Culture Collection (Kunshan, China), and GH4C1 and RC-4B/C were obtained from American Type Culture Collection (ATCC; Manassas, VA, USA). Cells were maintained in Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium (DMEM; Gibco, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc., Waltham, MA, USA) supplemented with 15% horse serum (Gibco, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc.), 2.5% fetal bovine serum (FBS; Gibco, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc.), 100 U/ml penicillin and 100 µg/ml streptomycin, and were maintained at 37°C in a 5% CO₂ humidified environment.
