Potassium dichromate

Microscopic glass slides and potassium dichromate were obtained from HiMedia (Mumbai, India). Hydrofluoric acid (HF), sulphuric acid, ammonia and glutaraldehyde (GA) were obtained from Merck Millipore (Bengaluru, India). 3′-Aminopropyl triethoxysilane (APTES) was obtained from Sigma Aldrich (USA). Tetra methylene benzidine–hydrogen peroxide (TMB/H₂O₂) was obtained from Aristogene Pvt Ltd (Bengaluru, India). Freund's complete and incomplete adjuvant, horse anti-rabbit IgG HRP and donkey anti-chicken IgY HRP were procured from Sigma Aldrich (US). Other chemicals used in the study were fine grade and obtained from Merck Millipore (Bengaluru, India).

3,3′,5,5′-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB), o-Phenyldiamine (OPD), 2,2’-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂, 30%), and DMSO, were obtained from Sigma-Aldrich. In addition, potassium dichromate (K₂Cr₂O₇), Chromium chloride hexahydrate (CrCl₃.6H₂O), Zinc sulphate (ZnSO₄), Lead acetate trihydrate (Pb(C₂H₃O₂)₂.3(H₂O)), Sodium sulfate (Na₂SO₄), Potassium carbonate (K₂CO₃), Sodium hydrogen carbonate (NaHCO₃), Barium nitrate (Ba(NO₃)₂), Cadmium nitrate tetrahydrate (Cd (NO₃)₂ · 4H₂O), Mercury chloride (HgCl₂) were purchased from HiMedia. Na₂SO₄ and ZnSO₄ were used to obtain SO₄^2- ions which were further used to check the specificity/cross-reactivity of the developed sensor intended to detect Cr(VI). In this article, water and other aqueous solutions with ultrapure water were purified with a Millipore system (18.2 MΩ·cm).

Acetylthiocholine iodide, adenine, ketamine, xylazine, thiobarbituric acid, 1,1,3,3-tetramethoxypropane, 3,3-diaminobenzidine (DAB) liquid substrate system, hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂), Sirius red and poly-L-lysine were obtained from Sigma-Aldrich Co., USA. Potassium dichromate, silver nitrate and formaldehyde were obtained from HiMedia laboratories Pvt. Ltd., India. Acetic acid, cresyl violet, Nitro blue tetrazolium (NBT), 5,5′-dithiobis-(2-nitrobenzoic acid) (DTNB), cytochrome c, pyrogallol, salicylic acid, tri-sodium citrate, copper sulphate, potassium ferricyanide, paraformaldehyde, picric acid, Triton X-100, sodium dodecyl sulphate and other chemicals were of analytical reagent grade, procured from SISCO Research Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., India. Rabbit anti-Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) antibody (ab7260) and rabbit anti-tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) antibody (ab112) were procured from Abcam (Cambridge, UK). Anti-rabbit goat secondary antibody conjugated with horseradish peroxidase (HRP; ap307p) was procured from Millipore Co. (USA). Urea, creatinine and uric acid assay kits were obtained from Coral Clinical Systems, Goa, India (Reference no. 1102240075, 1101070275, 1102260275).
