Antibodies against the p65 subunit of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB p65), I-κBα, phosphorylated-I-κBα (p-I-κBα), thioredoxin-interacting protein (TXNIP), NLRP3, p20 subunit of caspase-1 (casp-1-p20), β-actin, and horseradish peroxidase conjugated goat anti-rabbit antibody were obtained from Santa Cruz Biotechnology (Santa Cruz, CA, USA). Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kits for IL-1β and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) were obtained from R&D system (Minneapolis, MN, USA).

The HRS was freshly prepared every week and then stored under atmospheric pressure at 4°C in an aluminum bag with no dead volume and sterilized by gamma radiation before use.
