Bactotrypton, bacto agar, and yeast extract were purchased from Difco Laboratories (Detroit, MI, USA) and sodium chloride from the Wako Pure Chemical Company (Osaka, Japan). HeLa cell and Vero cell lines were obtained from the American type culture collection (USA and Canada). Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium (DMEM) was purchased from Sigma (St. Louis, MO, USA). Fetal bovine serum was purchased from Biosera (Kansas City, MO, USA). Trypan blue stain solution (4%) was purchased from Bio-Rad (Hercules, CA, USA). All other chemicals and reagents were of analytical grade.

Molecular Biology Reagents and Kits

Antimicrobial Assay of Ophiorrhiza Species

Fresh leaves of the plants (Ophiorrhiza rugosa, Ophiorrhiza mungos and Ophiorrhiza harrisiana) were obtained from the hilly area of the University of Chittagong (Chattogram, Bangladesh). These plants were identified and acknowledged by Farhana Rumzum Bhuiyan, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Botany, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. Analytical-grade reagents were utilized throughout.
