Alt activity assay kit

Manufactured by Merck Group
Sourced in United States

The ALT activity assay kit is a laboratory tool designed to measure the activity of the enzyme alanine aminotransferase (ALT) in biological samples. ALT is an enzyme found in various tissues, and its measurement can provide information about liver function and health. The kit includes the necessary reagents and protocols to perform the ALT activity assay.

Whole Blood Analysis and Liver Function in Mice

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
For whole blood analysis, mice were bled from the facial vein using a lancet. Blood was collected in EDTA tubes to prevent clotting (BD Biosciences), briefly vortexed and whole blood analysis was carried out using an ACT diff analyzer (Beckman Coulter) immediately after blood collection. For each blood sample, two analytical readings were taken and averaged. ALT Activity Assay kit (MAK052, Sigma-Aldrich) and AST Activity Assay kit (MAK055, Sigma-Aldrich) were used to perform liver function tests.

Liver and Muscle ALT and LDH Assay

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Fifty milligrams of liver and gastrocnemius muscle were homogenized in 500 μL of ALT or LDH Assay buffer and centrifuged at 10000 × g for 15 min at 4°C. ALT and LDH activities were determined using an ALT Activity Assay Kit (Sigma, Madrid, Spain) and LDH Activity Assay Kit (Sigma, Madrid, Spain), respectively.

ZIKV Infection Treatment Protocol

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
3- to 4-week-old female BALB/c orA129 mice were treated with 25HC (50 mg/kg) or the HβCD vehicle intraperitoneally (i.p.) 12 hr prior to infection i.p. with ZIKV strain GZ01/2016. The treatment was continued daily for seven days. Mice were observed daily for signs of illness or morbidity until 21 dpi. The survival rate was evaluated using the Log-rank (Mantel-Cox) test. Viral RNA in serum at 4 and 7 dpi and that in brain at 7 dpi were determined by qRT-PCR. The alanine aminotransferase (ALT) activity in serum at 7 dpi was detected using ALT activity assay kit (Sigma).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
