Moxifloxacin hcl

Microbiological standards or solutions for injection were obtained from the following sources: moxifloxacin HCl (powder potency: 90.9%, from Bayer HealthCare; Leverkusen, Germany; a solution for injection was prepared in NaCl 0.9%); B.5.delafloxacin (powder potency: 95.7%) and its intravenous formulation, from Melinta Therapeutics (New Haven, CT, USA); caspofungin diacetate (powder potency: 90.1%), from Sigma-Aldrich (St Louis, MO, USA) and Cancidas, from MSD (Brussels, Belgium). The other antibiotics were used as powder or solution for injection approved for human use in Belgium and complying with the provisions of the European Pharmacopoeia (vancomycin as Vancomycine Mylan, Mylan Inc, Canonsburg, PA, USA; linezolid as Zyvoxid, Pfizer Inc. (New York, NY, USA); daptomycin as Cubicin, Novartis (Horsham, UK)). Media for bacterial culture were from Becton Dickinson Company (Franklin Lakes, NJ, USA).

Moxifloxacin HCl (microbiological standard; potency: 90.9%) was provided by Bayer HealthCare (Leverkusen, Germany). Resazurin sodium salt, crystal violet solution, calcofluor white (CFW), proteinase K, and cation-adjusted Muller Hinton broth 2 (CA-MHB) were obtained from Sigma-Aldrich (St-Louis, MO); Tryptic Soy Broth (TSB), Tryptic Soy Agar (TSA), and multiwell plates, from VWR (Radnor, PA); bovine serum albumin, from Thermo Fisher Scientific Rockford, IL); 5-cyano-2, 3-ditolyl tetrazolium chloride (CTC) (RedoxSensor vitality kit), from Invitrogen (Carlsbad, CA); and Quick Start™ Bradford Protein Assay, from BioRad (Hercules, CA).

Moxifloxacin HCl (potency: 90.9%) was obtained from Bayer HealthCare (Leverkusen, Germany); gentamicin sulfate (potency: 60.7%) and cation-adjusted Muller Hinton broth (CA-MHB), from Sigma-Aldrich (St. Louis, MO, United States); human serum, from Biowest SAS (Nuaillé, France); cell culture media, from Gibco/Life Technologies Corporation (Paisley, United Kingdom); Mueller Hinton broth (MHB) and tryptic soy agar (TSA), from VWR (Radnor, PA, United States); and primers, from Eurogentec (Liège, Belgium).
