Crystal violet staining solution

Manufactured by Meilun
Sourced in China

Crystal violet staining solution is a laboratory reagent used for staining biological samples. It contains a dye called crystal violet, which binds to cell walls and nucleic acids, enabling visualization of cellular structures under a microscope.

Clonogenic Assay for Cell Proliferation

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Logarithmically growing cells of interest were collected and seeded into 6-well plates (500 cells per well) and cultured in an incubator for 14 days. After the incubator culture was completed, the original medium was discarded. The 4% paraformaldehyde (Meilunbio, China), 0.1% crystal violet staining solution (Meilunbio, China) and PBS were used to fix, stain, and wash. Subsequently, the 6-well plate was placed in a fume hood to dry. Colonies larger than 50 cells were counted. Three independent experiments were performed in each experimental group.

Cell Migration Assay Protocol

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Cells (2 × 105) were suspended in serum-free medium and seeded into the inserts of a 24-well Transwell chamber (Corning, NY, USA) in triplicate. The inserts were co-cultured on a 24-well plate containing 10% FBS as an attractant. After incubation at 37 °C in a 5% CO2 atmosphere for 24 h, the inserts were removed, and the upper surface of the membrane was scrubbed to remove the non-migrating cells. The inserts were then fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde and stained with crystal violet staining solution (meilunbio, Dalian, China). Images of migrated cells were acquired, and the average cell counts were calculated.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
