Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kits were used to estimate serum cystatin C (R&D Systems, USA), neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), NADPH oxidase, nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) (Cusabio, China), hemeoxygenase-1(HO-1) (Enzo Life Sciences, Egypt), heat shock protein 90 (HSP 90) (Bioassay™, USA), nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-κB) (Eiaab, China) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) (Raybio, USA). Reduced glutathione (GSH) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) were estimated using glutathione reduced and blood urea nitrogen colorimetric kits, respectively (Biodiagnostic, Egypt). Total antioxidant capacity (TAC) was assessed by antioxidant assay kit (Zenbio, USA).

ABTS Antioxidant Assay for GCF TAOC

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
An ABTS (2,2'Azinobis3ethylbenzothiazoline 6sulfonic acid) antioxidant assay kit (ZenBio Inc., Durham, USA) was used to determine the GCF TAOC levels at the selected sites. The collected GCF samples were added to the wells of microtitercoated plates with a pipette. The plates were sealed and incubated for 2 h at room temperature (18-25°C). The reagents were added as per the manufacturer's instructions. Color development was monitored every 5 min. Posi tive wells turned blue in color. The determination of optical density in each well was performed using a microplate reader (Molecular Devices, San Jose, USA) at an absorbance of 405 nm.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
