A total of 48 freshly enucleated eyes of New Zealand rabbits were used. All rabbits were 3 months old and weighed 2. The sample holder is placed 1 focal length after the collimating lens. The laser irradiance at the sample plane was varied using neutral density filters, between 0 and 0.65 W/cm 2 .
