HSF cells were purchased from Honsunbio. Ltd. (Shanghai, China). Lysogeny Broth (LB) agar medium, Mueller Hinton Broth medium (MHB), phosphate buffer saline (PBS), Calcein-AM/PI, LIVE/DEAD Bac Light Bacterial Viability Kit were purchased from Thermo Fisher Scientific. The acidic solution was prepared by titrating a 0.1 M NaCl solution to pH 3 using 1 M HCl, while the basic buffer medium was prepared by titrating 10 mM Tris with 1 M HCl to pH 8.5. Other reagents were used as received without further purification. DMA was prepared using previously published protocol[18 (link)].
