Dipalmitoyl phosphatidylcholine (DPPC), 1-myristoyl-2-palmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (MPPC) and 1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine-N-[amino(polyethylene glycol) 2000] (DSPE-PEG₂₀₀₀) were bought from Avanti Polar Lipids (Alabaster, AL). Mag (gadopentate dimeglumine) was bought from Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Wayne, NJ). All solvents used were of analytical grade.

All biotinylated and fluorescent antibodies, human CD138 microbeads, and Pan T Cell Isolation Kits were purchased from Miltenyi Biotec (Bergisch Gladbach, Germany). DMEM, RPMI-1640, L-glutamine, penicillin–streptomycin, and phosphate buffered saline (PBS) were purchased from Corning (Corning, NY). Fetal bovine serum, live-cell dyes, lipophilic tracers, collagenase, and counting beads were purchased from Life Technologies (Carlsbad, CA). 1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn- glycero-3-phosphocholine (DPPC), 1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine-N- [amino(polyethylene glycol)-2000] (DSPE-PEG2000), and polycarbonate membranes were purchased from Avanti Polar Lipids (Alabaster, AL). Cholesterol and chloroform were purchased from Millipore Sigma (Burlington, MA). Streptavidin conjugation kit was purchased from Abcam (Cambridge, UK). Human Cytokine Array Q1 was purchased from RayBiotech (Peachtree Corners, GA). All mice used in this study were NCG (strain: 572), female, 50–56 days old, and purchased from Charles River (Wilmington, MA). All mice experiments in this study were in compliance with the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee at Washington University.

MiaPaCa-2, BxPC-3, AsPC and PANC-1 cell lines were purchased from American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) (Manassas, VA). All solvents used were of analytical grade.

Egg phosphatidylglycerol (EPG), 1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phospho-(1’-rac-glycerol) (DOPG), 1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphate (DOPA), L-α-phosphatidylcholine (HSPC), 1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (DSPE), 1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (DOPE), and 1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine-N-[amino(polyethylene glycol)-2000] (DSPE-PEG2000) were purchased from Avanti Polar Lipids, Inc. (Alabaster, AL, USA). Cholesterol was purchased from Merck (Darmstadt, Germany). Doxorubicin HCl and Doxil^® were obtained from Taiwan Liposome Company (Taipei, Taiwan). Ethanol was purchased from Taiwan Sugar Corp. (Tainan, Taiwan). Modified polyethersulfene (mPES) hollow-fiber columns with a molecular weight of 100 kDa were purchased from Spectrum Inc. (Breda, The Netherlands). Float-A-Lyzer^® dialysis tubes with a 100 kDa molecular weight cutoff (MWCO) were purchased from Spectrum Laboratories (Rancho Dominguez, CA, USA).

All starting materials were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (St. Louis, MO, USA) and Fisher (Hampton, NH, USA), unless otherwise noted, and used without further purification. 1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine-N-[amino(polyethylene glycol)2000] (DSPE-PEG(2000)) was purchased from Avanti Polar Lipids (USA). Human aortic endothelial cells (hAECs) were purchased from Lonza (Switzerland) and cultured in EBM-2 medium supplemented with 2% FBS and VEGF. All cell types were cultured in a humidified incubator at 37 °C under 5% CO₂. Cells at passage five were used and media was changed every 2–3 days.

Glyceryl trioctanoate was obtained from Sigma Chemical Corporation (USA). 1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine-N-[amino (polyethylene glycol)-2000] (DSPE-PEG 2000) was purchased from Avanti Polar Lipids (USA). Taxol (PTX 6 mg/mL) was purchased from Haikou pharmaceutical factory CO.LTD (China). Porphyrin-lipid was synthesized accordingly to a previously published method [28 (link)]. All other chemicals were of reagent grade. Water was purified with Milli-Q Plus 185 water purification system (Millipore, Bedford, MA). Hoechst 33258 and a LIVE/DEAD® Viability/Cytotoxicity kit were purchased from Invitrogen Corporation (Carlsbad, CA, USA).
