PVDF was purchased from Solvay (Seoul, Republic of Korea)(Solef 1015, Mw = 570,000 g/mol). Gamma-butyrolactone (GBL, diluent), N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP, solvent), dimethylacetamide (DMAc, solvent), and ethylene glycol (EG, non-solvent) were purchased from the SAMCHUN Chemical (Pyeongtaek, Republic of Korea). NA11 (nucleating agent; NA) was purchased from Asahi Denka (Tokyo, Japan) (ADK STAB NA11, Sodium 2,2’-methylene bis-(4,6-di-tert-butylphenyl) phosphate). PVP (pore-forming additive) was purchased from BASF (Florham Park, NJ, USA) (LUVITEC K-30). The coagulation bath was composed of tap water as the non-solvent. All chemicals were used as received.

Polysulfone-Polyvinylpyrrolidone Membranes

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Polysulfone Ultrason S6010 natural (Mw = 50 kDa) and polyvinylpyrrolidones Luvitec K30 (Mw = 50 kDa) and Luvitec K90 (Mw = 1400 kDa) were provided by BASF (Ludwigshafen, Germany). The following reagents were used in this work: polyethylene glycol 400 (PEG-400, TC 2226-061-05766801-2006, Forvard Group, Moscow, Russia), sodium hypochlorite (grade “A”, 170–190 g/L, Russian Chemist, Moscow, Russia), ethanol (EtOH, 95%, Spirtmed, Moscow, Russia). Reverse osmosis water with a specific conductivity of no more than 30 μS/cm was produced on-site. The following extra pure (>99.5%) reagents, provided by CHIMMED, Russia were employed: N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAc), isobutanol (BuOH), glycerin, sodium bisulfate.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
