Comprehensive Health Assessment Protocol

At enrolment, we collected comprehensive sociodemographic and clinical data using standardised questionnaires and physical examination. Blood pressure was measured using the OMRON Bronze upper arm blood pressure monitor BP510 (OmronHealthcare). Height and weight were measured using the Seca 813 scale and Seca 0123 stadiometer, respectively. Hip and waist circumference were measured using a standard metric tape measure. Alcohol consumption was assessed using the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test-Concise (AUDIT-C) questionnaire.11 (link) We tested for hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) using the Alere Determine HBsAg rapid test and for hepatitis C infection using the SD Bioline Hepatitis C virus (HCV) antibody rapid test. Serum samples were collected for alanine aminotransaminase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) measurements. Patients were required to return fasted (≥8 hours) for a second visit within 2 weeks of enrollment for glucose and lipid panels, as well as transient elastography. Blood tests were performed at the central laboratory using the COBAS Beckman Coulter chemistry analyzer and the Alere Afinion 2 analyser for lipid panels.

Comprehensive Cardiometabolic Assessment Protocol

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Participants underwent a full clinical examination and comprehensive laboratory testing. Blood pressure was measured using an automated cuff (OMRON Bronze upper arm blood pressure monitor BP510 [Omron® Healthcare Inc]), and the average of three measurements was calculated from readings taken 5 minutes apart. Height was measured in centimetres (cm) using a SECA 0123 stadiometer and weight in kilograms (kg) using a SECA 813 digital scale. Hip and waist circumference were measured in cm using a standard metric tape measure. Socio‐demographic variables were collected by trained research staff administering standardized questionnaires. Lifestyle data included physical activity, measured using the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ), diet assessments were conducted using the validated WHO STEP Surveillance (STEPS) short questionnaire [13 ] and the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification test‐concise (AUDIT‐C) questionnaire to measure alcohol consumption [14 (link)].

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
