The DOX and all other chemicals were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (St. Louis, MO, USA) unless otherwise specified. The primary BCEC cultures and astrocytes cells (AC) were prepared from 4-week- and 3-day-old Sprague-Dawley male rats, respectively, provided by the Experimental Animal Center of Chongqing Medical University. All animal experiments were performed according to the protocol evaluated and approved by the Ethics Committee of Chongqing Medical University.
