The largest database of trusted experimental protocols

Proquest

Manufactured by EBSCO

ProQuest is a comprehensive database platform that provides access to a wide range of scholarly and professional content, including journals, newspapers, dissertations, and other research materials. It serves as a centralized hub for information discovery and retrieval, enabling users to search across multiple databases and content sources from a single interface.

Comprehensive Systematic Search Strategy

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The search strategy will aim to locate both published and unpublished studies. An initial limited search of PubMed and CINAHL (EBSCO) was undertaken to identify articles on the topic. The text words (ie, free text words) contained in the titles and abstracts of relevant articles identified in the initial search, and the index terms (ie, MeSH terms in MEDLINE [Ovid]) used to describe the articles were used to develop a full search strategy for MEDLINE (Ovid; see Appendix I). The search strategy, including all identified keywords and index terms, will be adapted for each included database and/or information source. The reference list of all included sources of evidence will be screened for additional studies.
Studies published in English, Finnish, or Swedish will be included. Limitations regarding publication date will not be applied.
The databases to be searched include MEDLINE (PubMed), CINAHL (EBSCO), ProQuest (Abi/Inform), Scopus, Medic (a Finnish database), Google Scholar, Science Direct, and Cochrane CENTRAL. MedNar will be searched to identify unpublished studies and gray literature.

Comprehensive Database Search Protocol

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Following the initial searches, discussions and review of the papers, a detailed search strategy was produced. The search strategy used the Boolean operators of AND and OR. Truncations were also be applied where appropriate. A draft search strategy for the OVID platform is provided in the appendix (see online supplemental appendix 2).
Once the search strategy was developed the databases searched were: APA PsycINFO (via OVID), Embase (via Ovid), MEDLINE (via Ovid), APA PsycArticles Full Text (via OVID), Web of Science Core Collection, SPORTDiscus (via EBSCO), CINAHL (via EBSCO), Scopus, ProQuest (Education Database), ProQuest (Education Collection), ProQuest (Health & Medical Collection), ProQuest (Nursing & Allied Health Database), ProQuest (Psychology Database), ProQuest (Public Health Database) and ProQuest (Sports Medicine & Education). The searches of these databases were conducted between 30 March 2022 and 3 April 2022.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
