The ATM kinase assay was carried out as described previously [9 (link)]. ATM was immunoprecipitated from whole-cell extracts using an anti-ATM antibody (Calbiochem). The phosphorylation of p53 (substrate) by immunoprecipitated ATM was estimated by western blot analysis using anti-phospho-p53 (S15) antibody (Cell Signaling) and mouse monoclonal anti-GST (GE Healthcare).
