Mouse trap elisa

Manufactured by Immunodiagnostic Systems
Sourced in United States

The Mouse TRAP ELISA is a quantitative sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) designed to measure the concentration of TRAP (Tartrate-Resistant Acid Phosphatase) in mouse serum or plasma samples. TRAP is an enzyme that serves as a biomarker for bone resorption.

Bone Remodeling Biomarker Quantification

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Blood was obtained from anesthetized mice by cardiac puncture at 6 weeks of age, and sera were stored in aliquots at -80°C. All ELISAs were performed as instructed by the manufacturer. C-terminal telopeptide (CTX) measurements were performed using the RatLaps ELISA (Immunodiagnostic Systems, Gaithersburg, MD; #AC-06F1). TRAcP 5b protein measurement was performed using Mouse TRAP ELISA (Immunodiagnostic Systems; #SB-TR103). Osteocalcin measurement was performed using the Mouse Osteocalcin EIA kit (Biomedical Technologies, Ward Hill, MA # BT-470). Assays were run in triplicate on between 3 and 9 individual animals per genotype.

Serum Collection and Bone Marker Analysis

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Blood was collected by retro-orbital bleeding and allowed to clot at room temperature for 1 hour, after which the blood was centrifuged for 10 minutes at 1000g and the serum collected and stored in aliquots at –80°C. Kits for measuring TRAP5b (MouseTRAP ELISA), CTX-1 (RatLaps EIA), and P1NP (Rat/Mouse P1NP EIA) were purchased from Immunodiagnostic Systems, Inc., and used according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Bone Metabolism Serum Markers Assay

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Serum levels of bone metabolism were assessed by colorimetric ELISA assays. Procollagen type 1 N-terminal pro-peptide (P1NP), a marker of bone formation, was measured using Rat/Mouse P1NP enzyme immunoassay (EIA) (Immunodiagnostic Systems, Fountain Hills, AZ, USA), carboxy-terminal collagen crosslinks, a marker of bone resorption, was measured using RatLaps EIA (Immunodiagnostic Systems), and TRAP activity, a marker of osteoclast number, was measured with Mouse TRAP ELISA (Immunodiagnostic Systems).

Bone Turnover Markers Measurement

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Circulating levels of procollagen type 1 amino-terminal propeptide (P1NP; bone formation marker), tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase 5b (TRAcP5b; bone resorption marker) and collagen type 1 cross-linked C-telopeptide (CTX; bone resorption marker) were measured with colorimetric assays (Rat/Mouse P1NP EIA #AC-33F1, Immunodiagnostic Systems, Fountain Hills AZ; MouseTRAP ELISA #SB-TR103, Immunodiagnostic Systems, Fountain Hills AZ; RatLaps (CTX-I) EIA #AC-06F1, Immunodiagnostic Systems, Fountain Hills AZ). All samples were tested in duplicate within each assay.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
