Digital blood pressure monitor hem 907

Manufactured by Omron
Sourced in Japan

The Omron Digital Blood Pressure Monitor HEM-907 is a device designed to measure and display blood pressure. It has a digital display and uses an upper arm cuff to automatically inflate and measure systolic and diastolic blood pressure readings.

Cardiovascular Measurements in Resting Conditions

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The measurements of blood pressure, systolic blood pressure (SBP), and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) were conducted using a digital sphygmomanometer (Omron Digital Blood Pressure Monitor HEM-907, Matsusaka, Japan). Resting heart rate (HRrest) was also measured. These measurements were taken three times under the same conditions in a seated resting position and with the left arm in support, after at least 5 min (AHA, 2005). A scale (OMRON BF 303, Matsusaka, Japan), a stadiometer (Seca, Hamburg, Germany), and bioelectrical impedance analysis were used for body mass (kg), height (cm), and body mass index (BMI, kg·m−2) and body fat percentage (BF, %), respectively.

Noninvasive Assessment of Aortic Stiffness

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Brachial blood pressure was measured in triplicate in the supine position by an automated sphygmomanometer (Omron Digital Blood Pressure Monitor HEM907, Bannockburn, IL). Mean arterial pressure (MAP) and pulse pressure (PP) were calculated from systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) values according to the following formulas:
MAP = (SBP + 2 × DBP)/3 and PP = SBP − DBP.
Ao-PWV was determined from carotid and femoral pressure waveforms obtained noninvasively by applanation tonometry (Millar tonometer, Millar Instruments, Houston, TX) using the Sphygmocor system (Atcor, Sydney, Australia) as previously described.15 (link) The distance between the surface markings of the sternal notch and the carotid (dc) and femoral artery (df) were used to estimate the path length between the carotid and femoral arteries (L= df-dc)) and Ao-PWV was computed as L/ΔT.15 (link) The within-subject SD of Ao-PWV assessed by this method was 0.5 m/s in our laboratory. The intraobserver coefficient of variation was 3.5%.

Comprehensive Body and Metabolic Profiling

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Body mass (kg), body fat percentage (%BF, %) and body mass index (BMI, kg.m−2) were assessed through a bioelectrical impedance analysis (OMRON BF 303, Matsusaka, Japan), and height was assessed with a stadiometer (Seca, Hamburg, Germany) for the body compositions.
For the hemodynamic profiles, blood pressure and resting heart rate (RHR) were measured three times in a seated rest position with the left arm in support (AHA, 2005), with an Omron Digital Blood Pressure Monitor HEM-907 (Matsusaka, Japan).
The lipid profiles were collected according to the Diabetes Atlas Committee’s procedures for measurement of triglycerides (TG, mg/dL), total cholesterol (TC, mg/dL) and blood glucose (GL, mg/dL) with the use of Roche Diagnostics GmbH Cobas Accutrend Plus (Mannheim, Germany).

Standardized Blood Pressure Measurement

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Blood pressure was taken using an Omron Digital Blood Pressure Monitor HEM-907 (Omron Healthcare Co. Ltd., Kyoto, Japan) after participants were rested for at least 15 min (24 ). The BP monitor was set to automatically take two BP measurements at 30 s interval. Height (cm) and weight (kg) were measured twice using a SECA stadiometer and weighing scale model 876 (SECA GmbH, Hamburg, Germany). If the height and weight measurements were more than 0.5 units (i.e., cm and kg, respectively) apart, a third measurement was taken, and the closest two measurements were recorded. The BP, height and weight data were entered onto the REDCap software and the mean of the two measurements was used for each participant.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
