Enzymatic Biocatalysis with Immobilized CALB

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
CALB immobilised in acrylic resin (EC 3.1.1.3, 10,000 U/g) (Novozyme 435), xanthine oxidase from bovine milk, xanthine, allopurinol, hesperidin, naringin, and rutin standards and hexanoic, octanoic, decanoic, lauric, and oleic acids were obtained from the Sigma-Aldrich Chemical Co., St. Louis, MO. All the solvents and reagents were of analytical, spectrometric, or chromatographic quality.

Profiling Aroma Compounds in Carob Pods

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Ceratonia siliqua trees were grown in the semi-arid “Siwa” Oasis, Egypt and pods were collected in the full ripe stage during the month of May 2016. A voucher specimen code “6-4-2017” was kept in the Department of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University, Egypt. Roasting was accomplished by heating pods in an oven set at 120 °C for 30 min. Three to 4 biological replicates were analyzed for each sample. The fruits were stored at −20 °C till further analysis. SPME holder and fiber coated with 50 μm/30 μm Divinyl benzene/Carboxen/Polydimethylsiloxane (DVB–CAR–PDMS) was supplied by Supelco (Oakville, ON, Canada). All volatile standards i.e., (E)-cinnamaldehyde, α-farnesene, hexanoic and benzoic acids used in the analyses were purchased from Sigma Aldrich (St. Louis, Mo., U.S.A.).

Preparation of Taste Stimuli Solutions

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Hexanoic (Cat No. H12137), octanoic (Cat No. O3907) and linoleic acids (Cat No. L1376), and denatonium benzoate (Cat No. D5765) were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich(St. Louis, MO) with a purity of >98%. Sucrose (Cat No. M1117) was purchased from Amresco (Solon, OH). Stock solutions of fatty acids were prepared in 80% ethanol, except for Hexanoic acid (in 20% ethanol) and kept at −20° C. A stock solution for denatonium benzoate was prepared in Millipore Q water and kept at 4° C for up to one week. Stock solutions were diluted to the final concentration using Millipore Q water prior to each experiment. Sucrose and denatonium benzoate solutions were also mixed with ethanol to obtain the same final concentration of ethanol.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
