Poplar Wood Catalysts via Hydrothermal Synthesis

The catalyst was prepared by an equal molar ratio impregnation and hydrothermal method. Poplar wood (Tianjin, China) was pretreated (SEP) (213 °C, 5 min) by steam explosion, as in previous studies [28 (link)]. Sigma Aldrich provided analytical-grade sodium borohydride (NaBH4), 4-nitrophenol (4-NP), graphene oxide and methylene blue (Shanghai, China). Sinopharm Chemical Reagent Co. Ltd. provided analytical-quality nickel nitrate hexahydrate, iron nitrate hexahydrate and ethanol (Shanghai, China).

required concentrations of the experimental solutions were diluted
with ultrapure water produced from a Milli-Q device (18.2 MΩ
