Potassium persulphate was purchased from Acros Organics, New Jersey, USA. 0.25% Trypsin-EDTA, RPMI 1640, penicillin-streptomycin, foetal bovine serum (FBS), L-glutamine, and Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) were acquired from Gibco®, New York, USA. 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) was purchased from Tokyo Chemical Industry, Tokyo, Japan. 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-5-(3-carboxymethoxyphenyl)-2-(4-sulfophenyl)-2H-tetrazolium (MTS) kit was provided by Promega, WI, USA. Phosphate buffer saline (PBS) was obtained from Invitrogen, New York, USA.
