Synthesis of Metal-Organic Electrocatalysts

Cobalt nitrate hexahydrate (Co(NO3)2·6H2O) and 2-methylimidazole (C4H6N2) were purchased from Aladdin. Sodium hypophosphite monohydrate (NaH2PO2·H2O) was obtained from Sinopharm Chemical Reagent Co., Ltd., China. Nafion 117 solution (5 wt%), TEA ((C2H5)3N), and titanium foil (Ti) were provided by Sigma-Aldrich. Commercial 20 wt% Pt/C catalyst and 20 wt% Ir/C catalyst were obtained from Premetek. All of these chemicals were used without further purification. The ultrapure water (>18.25 MΩ cm) used in all experiments was purified using a Milli Q water purification system.

Photocatalytic Nanocomposite Synthesis

All reagents were used without any further purification. Ultrapure water (18.2 MΩ) produced with a Milli-Q purification system was used in the synthesis and photocatalytic measurements.
