In addition, vasoconstrictor endothelin-1 (ET-1) and oxidized low-density lipoprotein (Ox-LDL) were measured using kits purchased from Bachem (Torrence, CA) and Mercodia (Winston Salem, NC), respectively. All assays were carried out according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
