Angiogenesis Assay of HUVECs on Matrigel

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Angiogenesis assay was conducted using 6-well plates that were pre-coated with Matrigel (BD Biosciences) at 37°C for 24 h. Subsequently, 1×105 HUVECs were seeded into each well. Following 24 h cell culture at 37°C, the formation of capillary-like structures was photographed and the branchpoints were counted. The tube length was analyzed by the AxioVision Rel software version 4.8 (Carl Zeiss AG).

Angiogenesis Assay with HUVECs

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
For angiogenesis assay, 6-well plates were pre-coated with matrigel (BD Biosciences, San Jose, CA, USA). Then, 1×105 HUVECs cells were seeded into each well. After 24 h of culturing at 37°C, the formation of capillary-like structures was photographed and the branch points were counted. The tube length was analyzed by the AxioVision Rel software version 4.8 (Carl Zeiss AG, Jena, Germany).

Cartilage Degeneration Quantification

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Femoral and tibial condyles were dissected separately without damaging the cartilage surface, and then stained with India ink to assess cartilage degeneration. Quantification of macroscopic images was evaluated by the area of macroscopic cartilage degeneration. Macroscopic pictures were taken using a ZEISS Stimi 2000C microscope (Carl Zeiss, Oberkochen, Germany) on a dedicated medical photography platform. The degeneration area of the medial tibial plateau was measured using AxioVision Rel software version 4.8 (Carl Zeiss, Oberkochen, Germany). Macroscopic assessment was performed separately by two examiners and the average values were recorded.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
