Rat c peptide elisa kit

Manufactured by ALPCO
Sourced in United States

The Rat C-Peptide ELISA Kit is a laboratory assay used to quantitatively measure the concentration of C-peptide in rat samples. C-peptide is a byproduct of insulin production and its measurement can provide information about insulin secretion.

Oral Glucose Tolerance Test in Rat Model

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
A total of 5 Sprague-Dawley rats (WT) and 11 rats expressing human IAPP (HIP rats) at ~7 months of age were used for current study. Rats were bred and housed in pairs under standard environmental conditions with a 12-hr light-dark (LD) cycle and habituated to routine handling, restraint, and oral gavage. After 12 h food deprivation, rats were administered an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) by oral gavage of 1.5 g/kg body weight of dextrose and blood was collected via lateral saphenous venipuncture into chilled, EDTA-treated microcentrifuge tubes before (0 min) and 10, 20, 40, 60, 90, and 120 min post oral gavage. Plasma glucose was measured by the glucose oxidase method using the YSI 2300 STAT Plus Glucose & Lactate Analyzer (YSI Life Sciences). Plasma insulin and C-peptide were measured using the ALPCO Diagnostics Rat Insulin ELISA kit (80-INSRT-E01) and Rat C-peptide ELISA kit (80-CPTRT-E01), respectively. Plasma glucagon was measured using the Mercodia Glucagon ELISA kit (10-1271-01).

Rat C-peptide Measurement by ELISA

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Rat blood was collected from the femoral vein under anesthesia into BD Vacutainer® Rapid Serum Tubes, left for 30 min at room temperature, then centrifuged and serum was collected. The concentration of C‐peptide was measured with rat C‐peptide ELISA kit (ALPCO Diagnostics, Salem, NH, USA).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
